This Privacy Policy describes how Tagnect (“Tagnect”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you use Tagnect’s apps. Tagnect provides two separate apps: the guest app (“Tagnect”), which connects you to a venue’s Wi‑Fi network through NFC tags, and the venue‑staff app (“Tagnect Manager”), used by a venue’s managers to program tags and issue access codes. What we process depends on which app you use, as detailed in Section 2. Tagnect is a control‑plane platform: it orchestrates the venue’s own network controller and does not carry your internet traffic. When you connect at a participating venue, that venue is the controller of the access data for its network and Tagnect acts as a service provider (processor) on the venue’s behalf, processing the data needed to authorize and manage the connection.
Tagnect is currently operated by Ieso Dutra Junior. As the business establishes its operating entity, the responsible party named here will be updated accordingly. For any privacy request, use the contact in Section 8.
What we process depends on which of the two apps you use.
To connect you to the network and keep access secure, we process:
The guest app does not collect your location and does not access your device’s GPS.
The guest app does not require creating an account or signing in, and we do not collect the name, email, phone number or payment data of the end user connecting to Wi‑Fi.
The Tagnect Manager app is used by venue staff, not by guests, and requires a Tagnect manager account (or an invite code from the account owner). For staff who sign in, we process:
These are linked to the manager’s account and are used only to operate the app; they are not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites and are not used for advertising. The Manager app does not process guests’ personal data, does not use your location or GPS, and contains no purchases — billing is handled separately by the account owner on the Tagnect web console.
Legal basis: performance of the service you request by connecting, and our legitimate interest in the security of the network. Where consent is the applicable basis under your local law, you may withdraw it at any time.
We do not sell your data. Access data is shared only with the venue where you connect and with the technical infrastructure required to operate the service (the Wi‑Fi controller and our hosting/server providers, acting as our sub‑processors). We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
We keep connection data only for as long as necessary to operate the service and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
We apply technical and organizational measures to protect the data, including encrypted communication (HTTPS/TLS) and integrity signatures on requests. The Wi‑Fi credentials Tagnect uses are temporary and rotated, reducing the window in which an exposed credential remains usable: once a credential’s time block and grace period expire, it can no longer be used for a new association. On compatible managed infrastructure, access may also remain restricted until the device is validated by the server and promoted to its authorized profile.
Depending on where you live, applicable data protection laws may give you the right to:
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; Tagnect does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. To exercise any right, use the contact below.
To request deletion of your Tagnect Manager account and its associated data, email usetagnect@gmail.com from — or naming — your account email address, with the subject “Data deletion”. After we verify the request, we delete the account data we hold about you: your account email address and the device identifier linked to your sign‑in sessions. Connection and session records are kept only as described in Section 5 and are then deleted or anonymized. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. (Guests using the “Tagnect” app do not have an account; see Section 2.1 for the limited data processed there.)
